Principal Qualifications:
Certified teacher with at least three (3) years experience at the secondary school level Professional development experiences including courses or workshops focused on areas of math development Have knowledge of effective instructional strategies Be able to establish a collaborative relationship with other teachers, parents and administrators Organized and skilled at record keeping
Note:
Negative TB Test results must be on file with Human Resources prior to starting work Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Job Goal:
To work with students to overcome academic gaps; to communicate with parents, teachers and principals regarding each student's needs and progress.
Performance Responsibilities:
Participate in state, district, or school level professional training programs and learning activities. Administer necessary or required student assessments to identify student strengths and weaknesses. Keep careful records on each student's progress. Identify students for inclusion in the planned academic intervention and determine when student progress reaches a level that indicates intervention is no longer needed. Utilize technology to strengthen and support student instruction. Communicate with the principal and other identified school personnel on the progress of students. Model for teachers and parents effective teaching or intervention strategies. Responsible for the planning and implementation of effective instruction. Uphold professional standards and ethics. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • The principal will determine the specific essential job duties as planned for his/her school.
