DIA-X Afterschool leader , The job may include overseeing and planning daily activities, encouraging academic growth within the students; The after-school leader should be a friendly approachable individual with a passion for teaching and excellent communication skills. This is a part-time, hourly position, working with 6-8th grade students, Monday through Thursday, 11-6 pm, Friday 11-5 pm The hourly wage for this position is $17-$20 depending on education/experience and it is approximately 20 hours a week. This position requires experience working with academic data & working with students The ideal candidate will also have Spanish/English bilingual skill set. Responsibilities 1. Communicate with the afterschool director and teachers. 2. Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, and remain alert to the needs and/ or problems of the children as individuals and as a group. 3. Assist and implement developmentally appropriate and inclusive program activities consistent with DIA mission and vision for youth in an out-of-school environment. 4. Interact with children to provide guidance emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks. 5. Maintain and organize a clean environment and ensure the students conduct themselves appropriately. 6. Ensure the school rules and regulations are adhered to in the afterschool program. 7. Participate in weekly meetings with the after-school program director. 8. Complete and participate in PD training offered by the school and that is required to maintain your role. 9. Ability to set rules and guidelines for children to follow. 10. Other duties as assigned by the afterschool director. How to
