Job Description

Stipend :

$1500 (three events $500 per event- MUST

DO ALL THREE

) Plan and Facilitate WSHS Community Contact Events for 2026-2027 School year

Purpose:

Support Teachers in Meeting the Community Contact Hours required by the CBA

In order to:

"fulfill the community contact portion of the evaluation criteria, an additional community contact day (7 hours) is provided as compensation for required attendance at Family Math Night, Family Literacy Night, Open House, and any other event or activity as mutually deemed appropriate by the Association and the District as shown on the annual Community Contact Day Form." (MAEA contract language, 2025-2027, Section 2 District Days, A.3., p. 48)

The CEL framework, Under Communication And Collaboration With Parents And Guardians (PCC2), proficient says, "Teacher communicates with all parents and guardians about goals of instruction and student progress using multiple tools to communicate in a timely and positive manner. Teacher considers the language needs of the parents/guardians."

It is a district expectation that teachers share academic, learning information with parents/guardians at these events.

Examples include:

Helping parents understand the WA State Learning Standards and our selected Essential Standards

Providing materials and training designed to help parents work with their children both in school and at home

Providing examples of the curriculum and mini lessons to help parents understand what their students are learning

Providing training on how to monitor a child's progress in school

Providing training on how to work with educators

Providing information about attendance

September 9th. 2026- Tailgate party with information concerning attendance, content and school information. Held before a football game. Duties

Plan with teachers including creating a Google doc to document all teacher planned family engagement activities and supplies/materials needed - This will serve as an agenda and documentation of the event.

Create a flyer Work with Federal Programs Assistant to order supplies/materials

Organize and get materials/supplies to teachers

Advertise event

Do facilities request/tables that are needed

Communicate regularly with administrators concerning plans

Assign a sign in crew and ensure students/parents sign into the event (the sign in sheet will be obtained from the building administrators or the Federal Programs Assistant)

Attend and help with set up and clean up All tasks that need to be completed for the event

November 18, 2026- Student showcase

Duties:
