San Diego, CA Job Details Seasonal $21 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description The Old Globe, located in beautiful Balboa Park, is seeking a Seasonal House Manager to join our Front of House team at San Diego's premier regional theatre. The House Manager is responsible for ensuring that performances run smoothly before, during, and after each performance. This role serves as a key point of contact for patrons, staff, and volunteers, helping create a welcoming and safe theatre experience for all guests. Candidates must be available to work throughout The Grinch performance season, which runs through December 31, 2026. Evening and weekend availability is required. Please note that The Old Globe has scheduled performances on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, typically held in the morning or early afternoon, and staff will be required to work during those performance times. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Oversee front-of-house operations before, during, and after performances Ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all patrons Support and coordinate with ushers, volunteers, and theatre staff Address patron needs, questions, and concerns with professionalism Respond calmly and effectively to time-sensitive or unexpected situations Help ensure the theatre is managed smoothly and safely throughout each performance The Old Globe is actively committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, & access in all areas of our operation. The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities: Previous customer service experience in a public-facing role required Front of House or House Management experience preferred but not required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Ability to think and act calmly and effectively under pressure Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, & access and anti-racism work in the theatre The hourly rate is $21.00/hour. This is a seasonal position, and evening and weekend availability is required. Candidates must be available to work throughout The Grinch performance season through December 31, 2026, including scheduled performances on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
