The Facilities Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the museum's facilities and train exhibits. This position primarily focuses on cleaning tasks but also provides support to the Facilities Supervisor and assists with event preparation as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Cleaning:
Maintain cleanliness of the museum's indoor and outdoor spaces, including restrooms, public areas, and workspaces. (Wiping down displays, vacuuming, power-washing, cleaning railcars)
Railcar Maintenance:
Assist in opening train cars for the day, cleaning interiors and exteriors, and ensuring exhibits are presentable to visitors.
Basic Setup & Operation:
Turn on designated museum equipment, lights, and displays as instructed.
Event Preparation:
Assist in setting up tables, chairs, and other necessary arrangements for museum events and activities.
General Assistance:
Support the Facilities Supervisor with basic maintenance tasks or special projects as needed.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and cleaning protocols to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Intermediate English Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, cleaning, and standing for extended periods. Attention to detail and willingness to follow specific cleaning procedures. Comfortable working independently while following instructions. Reliability and punctuality. Use of ADP Mobile app for clocking in and out. Reliable transportation to and from work. The ideal candidate will not be afraid of heights for cleaning certain areas. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products
