Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Design and Media Assistant for the Ettihad Cultural Center at Oregon State University (OSU). The Design and Media Assistant creates materials that promote Diversity & Cultural Engagement's events. Working collaboratively with professional staff and campus partners, the Design and Media Assistant contributes to projects from concept development through final production. While professional staff maintain overall decision-making authority and accountability, Design and Media Assistants play an active role in creative implementation, problem- solving, feedback, and execution of ideas. This position provides a supportive, student- centered learning environment w Design and Media Assistants develop technical skills, professionalmunication practices, and a strong design portfolio while contributing meaningfully to campus engagement and student success. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Teamwork, Leadership, Equity & Inclusion Position Duties Administrative & Operational Support
Staff Cultural Resource Center during scheduled shifts, providing consistent front-desk coverage
Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries with professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate judgment
Maintainanized media files and d drives
Attend and actively participate in required trainings and weekly student staff meetings
Follow university and departmental policies, procedures, and workflows
Follow university and departmental protocols regardingmunicating with media requests and correspondence
Update the event and resource boards in your CRC Design & Creative Production
Create, edit, and finalize digital and design materials, including social media graphics, digital signage, email newsletters, posters, and flyers OSU brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and inclusive design practices across all deliverables
Proofread and review designs for accuracy, clarity, and quality prior to publication or distribution
Incorporate feedback from professional staff and campus partners to refine designs
Knowledge of videography and photography basics
Use and continuously learn updates for department software and tools, including Microsoft Teams, Canva, Outlook, Adobe Creative Cloud suite or equivalent image editing software, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere or equivalent video editing software
Manage and engage with applicable social media platforms, such as YouTube, , , Snapchat, , Tik Tok, Threads, Etc.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
Collaborate with staff members from Student Experiences & Engagement (SEE), Diversity & Cultural Engagement (DCE), and any other project stakeholders to clarify project goals, audiences, and timelines
Demonstrate active listening and clearmunication when discussing design concepts with non-designers
Contribute ideas and creative solutions during project planning and brainstorming processes

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

Additional Required Qualifications Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

At least one year of design and media employment, volunteer, orparable experience demonstrating responsibility and accountability

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience withmunities represented by the Cultural Resource Centers
Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, unless otherwise arranged with the supervisor Preferred (Special) Qualifications Involvement with underrepresented or marginalizedmunities on campus
