Cello Instructor - East Valley School of Music (Chandler, AZ)
Pay:
$35/hour (in‑studio) $45/hour (in‑home) Independent Contractor In‑Person Teaching Calling all passionate string instructors! East Valley School of Music (EVSM) — the premier music school in the East Valley — is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic cello Instructor to join our team at our 16‑studio facility in Chandler (4835 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler 85248). We currently have openings to reassign students in‑studio on Monday and Saturday , with additional openings on all other days for in‑home lessons (traveling to student homes). You need to be available to teach approximately 3:00-8:00 PM on weekdays or 10:00-4:00 PM on Saturdays . Saturday availability is required; Monday availability is preferred. In addition to teaching at our facility, in‑home lessons starting at $40/hour are also available upon hiring for instructors interested in expanding their schedule. We're looking for a teacher who loves sharing the joy of music, values strong foundations, and enjoys working with motivated students in a supportive, organized school environment. We handle the business side so you can do what you do best. $35/hour — higher pay than most music schools can offer $40/hour for in‑home lessons (optional upon hiring) Back‑to‑back lessons — no driving around town or gaps in your schedule Billing, scheduling, and parent communication handled for you Teach in a professional, spacious, fully equipped music school Large 1,600 sq ft performance hall available for recitals Multiple solo & collaborative performance opportunities for students Instructor bio, photo, and resume featured on our website Flexible scheduling within our available teaching days EVSM has served over 2,700 families since 2006 and offers private lessons in piano, guitar, voice, strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion. Our 4,800 sq ft building features 16 teaching rooms and a dedicated performance hall — a comfortable, organized environment where teachers are valued. We hire instructors as independent contractors , not employees. Music degree strongly preferred. Ability to read music proficiently. Must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience. Must have a resume and 1 letter of recommendation from a school, teaching studio, or colleague. Must be a U.S. citizen. We cannot hire instructors with temporary work visas. Responsibilities Teach individual cello lessons, primarily to students ages 7-17 Provide instruction in music reading, technique, theory, and performance skills Use curriculum while customizing lessons to each student's needs Follow school policies and collaborate with our teaching teamOptional:
