Guitar Teacher in Peoria

Job Description

Arise AZ Teacher Information Responsibilities:
We are looking for a patient and enthusiastic guitar teacher to provide in-home lessons for students of various skill levels. The ideal candidate will create fun engaging lessons tailored to each student's needs while fostering a love for music. Responsibilities include teaching guitar lesson in students' home; customize lessons based on skill level and learning style; encourage students' progress and love for music; communicate with parents about student progress. Requirements include proficiency in guitar and basic music theory; previous teaching experience preferred, reliable transportation and ability to work with students of different ages and skill levels. Teachers will go in homes of families to support students and their needs. Music teachers will help students practice their instruments and learn new material based on their level. Teacher training is provided if necessary. This is an in-person teaching opportunity, providing private lessons in students' homes throughout Peoria.
Hours/Schedule:
Teachers are able to make their own hours and schedule with families that have expressed interest in the program. We let tutors know what is needed and they can accept or deny the specific teaching opportunity. For example, a family might be looking for a guitar teacher for an hour once a week during after-school hours and we would offer the opportunity to music teachers. We require a semester-long commitment from each teacher and a signed contract. This role allows you to create your own schedule and is a part-time position.
Location Expectations:
Teachers must be willing to go and travel in homes. The general area for this position is Peoria/Glendale. We try to keep locations close, but it is always up to the teacher whether or not they take the teaching opportunity.
Licenses:
No license required.
Degree Requirement:
Teachers must have a high school degree.
Previous Experience:
Teachers must have previous experience helping others with guitar and / or be proficient in playing the guitar. You should also have a competent understanding of the area they will be tutoring in. We train teachers so they can better understand what a session should look like and what they need to be doing.
Music Experience:
Music teachers must be able to know how to play the guitar and know basic theory. Final candidates will send in a 1-2 minute video playing with the instrument you hope to teach.
Teacher Cancellation Policy:
If you plan to be out of town or are sick, please let us know as soon as possible. We can help you reschedule your lesson with the family/student you are tutoring or find a substitute for you if needed. Compensation for
Music Teachers:
$20/half hour Summary As a Guitar Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in guitar performance and music theory, fostering a love for music while developing their skills. You will utilize your core teaching skills to create engaging lesson plans tailored to each individual student. Provide progress updates and feedback to students and parents while also assisting students by preparing them for recitals and performances.
