Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. You'll teach students of varying ages and skill levels, create lesson plans, prepare students for performances and auditions, and track their progress. Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and events that promote music education. Ideal candidates have strong performance or teaching experience on at least one band, orchestra, or popular instrument, excellent communication skills, and a student-focused, inclusive approach that aligns with our mission to make music education accessible to all. Responsibilities Provide private and group music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop and follow structured lesson plans and curriculum Assess student progress and provide clear feedback to students and parents Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and performances Maintain accurate schedules, attendance, and progress records Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and educational events Promote additional lessons and programs to support student growth Ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment Required Skills Instrumental or vocal performance proficiency Music theory and ear training Lesson planning and curriculum development Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Recital and performance preparation Basic music technology (metronomes, apps, recording) Communication with students and parents Time management and scheduling Collaboration within a retail/education environment
