Preschool Music Teacher (Part-Time) Children of Light Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced Music Teacher to provide engaging weekly music instruction for children 18 months to 4 years old . We are looking for someone who can inspire a love of music through interactive lessons using either the Music Prodigies curriculum or hands-on instrument instruction. This is a part-time position teaching once per week . Responsibilities Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate music classes for toddlers and preschoolers. Teach basic musical concepts through singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and interactive activities. Utilize the Music Prodigies program (preferred) or create an engaging instrument-based curriculum. Foster creativity, confidence, and participation in a positive classroom environment. Adapt lessons to meet varying developmental levels (18 months-4 years). Set up and clean up materials before and after each class. Communicate professionally with school staff and administration. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience teaching music to toddlers and/or preschool-aged children. Experience working in a preschool, daycare, early childhood program, music school, or similar setting. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Ability to keep young children engaged through movement, singing, and interactive activities. Strong classroom management skills. Reliable, punctual, patient, and energetic. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Music Prodigies curriculum. Ability to teach beginner instruments (such as piano, ukulele, percussion, or similar). Degree or coursework in Music, Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Requirements Must pass a criminal background check and Live Scan fingerprint clearance (required by California licensing). Must be eligible to work in the United States. Current TB clearance. Must provide proof of required immunizations (including MMR, Tdap, and Influenza or signed declination, as applicable under California regulations). Must be dependable and able to work independently. Reliable transportation. Schedule Part-Time 1 day per week Approximately 1-3 hours , depending on class schedule. Pay $40-$50 per hour , based on experience, qualifications, and curriculum provided.
