Job Description

Drum Teacher - The Brandeis School of San Francisco (After School Wednesdays) California Arts Enrichment is hiring an enthusiastic and encouraging drum teacher to provide private after-school lessons for students in 1st through 8th grade at The Brandeis School of San Francisco . We're looking for a dependable musician and educator who can teach drum kit and hand percussion and who enjoys helping students build confidence, coordination, and musicality. Lessons should give students a strong foundation in drumming while introducing a variety of styles and creating a positive, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment.
Lesson Description:
Students will develop fundamental drumming skills including rhythm, coordination, technique, groove, dynamics, and musical style. Lessons may include both drum kit and hand percussion and can incorporate music that reflects each student's interests and goals.
Rate:
$80 per hour
Lesson Length:
Lessons will generally be 45 minutes
Schedule:
Wednesdays between 3:30-6:00

1st through 8th grade

California Arts Enrichment LLC Responsibilities Provide engaging and individualized drum lessons for students in grades 1-8. Teach fundamental drum kit and hand percussion skills, including rhythm, coordination, technique, groove, dynamics, and musical style. Help students develop strong timing, listening skills, and musical confidence. Introduce students to a variety of drumming styles and repertoire based on their interests and experience. Create a fun, positive, and encouraging learning environment. Help students develop effective practice habits and increasing musical independence. Adapt lessons to meet the learning styles, goals, and skill levels of individual students. Communicate reliably and professionally with California Arts Enrichment regarding scheduling and student progress. Qualifications Prior experience teaching or working with school-age students. Strong drum kit and percussion performance skills. Ability to teach beginning and intermediate students. Knowledge of foundational drumming technique, rhythm, groove, and musical styles. Enthusiastic, dependable, patient, and encouraging teaching style. Formal music training or previous private lesson teaching experience is preferred.
