We work primarily with young beginner students , and our teaching philosophy is centered on helping children have fun, feel encouraged, and enjoy lessons . This is not a highly rigid or traditionally intense piano pedagogy environment . We are looking for someone warm, patient, engaging, and great with children. Teaching takes place approximately half at students' homes and half at our studio at 1415 Irving St. in San Francisco . Mandarin or Cantonese is a strong plus , and there may be additional opportunities for more work for candidates who can also teach Chinese language.

Ideal candidates will have:

Experience teaching piano to children and beginners A friendly, encouraging, and flexible teaching style Comfort teaching both in-home and in-studio lessons Strong reliability and communication skills
