- After School (Tuesdays) California Arts Enrichment is hiring an enthusiastic and encouraging woodwind teacher to provide private after-school lessons for students in 4th through 8th grade at The Brandeis School of San Francisco .
We're looking for a dependable musician and educator who can teach clarinet, saxophone, and flute and who enjoys helping beginning and intermediate students build confidence on their instruments. Lessons will focus on strong fundamentals while also giving students opportunities to work on music from their school band classes and explore other music that is interesting and motivating to them.
Lesson Description:
Students will develop foundational and intermediate woodwind skills, including music reading, tone production, articulation, technique, dynamics, and musical expression. Teachers will support students with music they are currently learning in their band classes while also incorporating additional repertoire based on each student's interests.
Rate:
$80 per hour
Lesson Length:
Lessons will generally be 45 minutes
Schedule:
Tuesdays between 3:30-6:00

California Arts Enrichment LLC Responsibilities Provide engaging and individualized woodwind lessons for beginning and intermediate students in grades 1-8. Teach clarinet, saxophone, and flute fundamentals, including tone production, technique, articulation, dynamics, and music reading. Help students prepare and improve music they are currently working on in their school band classes. Introduce additional music that reflects each student's interests and keeps lessons engaging. Create a fun, positive, and encouraging learning environment. Help students develop confidence, musical independence, and effective practice habits. Adapt lessons to meet the learning styles, goals, and skill levels of individual students. Communicate reliably and professionally with California Arts Enrichment regarding scheduling and student progress. Qualifications Prior experience teaching or working with school-age students. Strong performance skills on one or more woodwind instruments and the ability to teach clarinet, saxophone, and flute at the beginning and intermediate levels. Strong knowledge of foundational woodwind technique, tone production, and music reading. Enthusiastic, dependable, patient, and encouraging teaching style. Formal music training or previous private lesson teaching experience is preferred.
