Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance is seeking part-time private music lesson instructors. Instructors at Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance teach character development and leadership skills to youth and adults. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and experience in teaching one or more instruments in the following: piano, ukulele, guitar, voice, violin, or drums . Other experience includes preparing students for recitals and performances, creating customized lesson plans appropriate for different skill levels/ages, and facilitating a safe and positive learning environment. Candidates must be comfortable with and enjoy teaching a wide range of ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to more advanced musicians.

Other qualifications include:

The ability to set and remain accountable to personal goals. To be coachable and eager to learn new skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills so you can be an effective mentor and coach and so you can prepare clear student evaluations. Working as an effective team member staging studio productions or executing special events The candidate should be passionate about the power of music to help students develop discipline and confidence, learn to set and achieve goals, and practice positive leadership skills. We are looking to fill teaching schedules on the weekdays from 3PM-8:30PM.

Please note:

We are looking for a long-term teacher! As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to provide examples of their musicianship and be invited to teach a demo lesson as a guest instructor. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans for private music students, focusing on technique, music theory, and repertoire. Instruct students of varying ages and skill levels, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment. Manage lesson pacing and dynamics to foster a positive, focused learning atmosphere. Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress, practice expectations, and achievements. Provide constructive feedback and actionable goals to enhance students' musical skills. Collaborate with other instructors to enhance curriculum development and share best teaching practices.
