Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and committed Music Teacher to serve within our church community by equipping students with musical skills while fostering spiritual growth and a heart for worship. This role is designed to inspire students of ages 5 to 17 to develop their musical abilities, creativity, and discipline in a Christ-centered environment. The Music Teacher will design engaging lessons, create a welcoming and faith-based learning atmosphere, and support students as they grow musically and personally. This is a paid position and offers a meaningful opportunity to invest in the next generation through music and ministry. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that integrates music theory, rhythm performance techniques, and creative expression within a church and worship context Teach instrumental instruction, including worship songs, foundational technique, and musical understanding Create a positive, respectful, and faith-based classroom environment that reflects the values and mission of the church Provide individualized instruction and support to students with varying skill levels and learning needs Prepare and coach students for church services, worship sets, recitals, and special events Encourage spiritual growth by modeling worship, discipline, and servant leadership through music Maintain records of student attendance, progress, and development while fostering a nurturing learning environment Support children and youth with special learning needs using patience, adaptability, and encouragement Skills & Qualifications Strong background in music education, worship music, or instrumental/vocal instruction Experience teaching children, youth, or adults in a classroom, small group. Ability to develop structured yet flexible lesson plans for different age groups and skill levels Excellent classroom management skills with a compassionate and encouraging approach Understanding of child and youth development principles Ability to adapt instruction for students with special education needs or varying learning styles Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and church staff Passion for worship, discipleship, and using music as a tool for ministry Willingness to collaborate and serve within a team-oriented church environment
