Position Summary Premier Youth Symphony & Arts is seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Cello Instructor to teach weekly evening lessons for students of varying skill levels. The ideal candidate is an engaging educator who inspires students while maintaining high artistic standards and fostering a positive, encouraging learning environment. Responsibilities Teach weekly cello lessons to children and youth. Develop students' technical and musical skills, including posture, bow technique, tone production, intonation, rhythm, sight-reading, and ensemble performance. Prepare students for orchestra rehearsals, recitals, and performances. Maintain a structured, positive, and engaging learning environment. Communicate professionally with parents and program leadership regarding student progress. Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled lessons. Support the mission and values of Premier Youth Symphony & Arts. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music or equivalent professional experience preferred. Experience teaching cello to children and youth. Strong cello performance skills. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Passion for mentoring young musicians. Reliable transportation. Ability to successfully pass a background check. Preferred Qualifications Training or teaching experience within El Sistema or another ensemble-based youth orchestra program is highly desirable. Candidates with training or teaching experience in Venezuela's El Sistema are strongly encouraged to apply. Suzuki or equivalent string pedagogy experience is a plus.
