Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Band Teacher to join our vibrant educational community in Port St. Lucie. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive music curricula tailored to elementary school students, incorporating diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that enhance students' musical skills, including singing, instrument playing, rhythm, and music theory. Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements using instructional modifications. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and respect. Assess student performance regularly through formative and summative evaluations, utilizing learning technology and student performance data analysis tools. Collaborate with fellow teachers, special educators, and support staff to integrate music education into broader curriculum goals. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student attendance, assessments, and compliance with educational regulations. Incorporate LMS (Learning Management Systems) for lesson delivery, assignments, and tracking student progress efficiently. Support school-wide initiatives such as standardized testing preparation and extracurricular music programs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred. Proven classroom teaching experience at the elementary level with a strong background in music instruction. Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with disabilities or special needs. Knowledge of childhood development principles and effective classroom management strategies. Familiarity with learning technology platforms including LMS tools for lesson planning and student engagement. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and parent engagement. Ability to analyze student performance data to inform instruction and improve learning outcomes. Understanding of educational compliance standards, including special education laws and regulations related to music education. Passion for teaching music along with literacy education, math integration in lessons, and behavior management techniques.
