Job Summary Somerset Academy South Miami is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated K-5 Music Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and the ability to create engaging, age-appropriate experiences that help elementary students develop confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for music. The Music Teacher will provide high-quality instruction across grades K-5 while creating a positive and structured classroom environment. This position also plays an important role in bringing our school community together through student performances, celebrations, and special events throughout the year. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in grades K-5. Provide students with opportunities to explore singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, music appreciation, and performance. Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment with clear expectations and strong classroom management. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles. Encourage creativity, participation, collaboration, and confidence in all students. Plan, organize, and prepare students for school performances, concerts, celebrations, and special events. Collaborate with classroom teachers, administration, and other members of the school community. Maintain appropriate lesson plans, grades, attendance, and other required documentation. Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration. Care for and maintain classroom instruments, equipment, and music resources. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Florida teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred. Previous classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required. Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, music program, private instruction, camp, church, community organization, or similar setting is a plus. Strong knowledge of music and the ability to provide engaging instruction in areas such as vocal music, rhythm, movement, and age-appropriate instruments. Ability and enthusiasm to organize and lead student performances and school musical events. Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, faculty, and administration. Enthusiastic, dependable, creative, and committed to providing students with a positive and engaging music experience. Pay:

$53,250.00 - $70,000.00 per year
