Hourly wage Qualifications Master's degree in Saxophone Performance or a related music field required; Doctorate (or ABD) preferred Demonstrated success in teaching saxophone at the collegiate level Strong performance credentials Commitment to fostering success in a student population with many first generation college students Responsibilities The successful candidate will play an active and visible role in the artistic and educational life of the Indiana State University School of Music.

Responsibilities include:

Teaching applied saxophone lessons to a diverse population of undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-majors Coaching student woodwind chamber ensembles and fostering collaborative musicianship Teaching additional courses based on the candidate's strengths and departmental needs Contributing to recruitment efforts through audition adjudication, school outreach, and participation in key events such as Contemporary Music Festival, Music Career Day, All-Star Honor Band, and ISU Jazz Festival Performing regularly with the Indiana State University School of Music faculty, including on-campus recitals and regional recruitment performances Application Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Known for its dynamic programming and commitment to student success, the school hosts several high-profile annual events that connect students with internationally acclaimed artists and educators. Now in its 58th year, the Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival has welcomed composers such as Steve Reich, Libby Larsen, George Crumb, John Corigliano, and Chen Yi, providing students with direct access to influential figures in modern music.
