Job Description

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher for our retail lesson studio. In this role, you will provide private and small-group instruction for beginning to intermediate students on band, orchestral, or popular instruments. You'll create engaging lesson plans, track student progress, and prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances. You will collaborate with store staff to support instrument rentals, sales, and accessories needs while helping build studio enrollment. The ideal candidate combines strong musicianship, prior teaching or coaching experience, and a student-centered, inclusive approach to music education. Responsibilities Provide private and small-group music lessons to students of varying ages Develop and adapt lesson plans to student goals and skill levels Track and communicate student progress to parents and guardians Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, sales, and accessories Maintain an organized, safe, and inclusive lesson environment Support studio enrollment growth through retention and referrals Use basic technology for scheduling, communication, and records Required Skills Instrumental or vocal performance proficiency Music theory and ear training Lesson planning and curriculum design Classroom and studio management Student assessment and progress tracking Basic piano/keyboard skills (for theory and accompaniment) Use of lesson management or scheduling software Communication with parents and students Rehearsal and recital preparation Basic sales support for instruments and accessories
