Our teachers are skilled music-college graduates who guide students of every age through structured, level-based training — from first lessons to conservatory-style preparation. Alongside instruction, we host recitals, galas, and community performances, and support talented young musicians through our scholarship fund. We are hiring a part-time Piano Instructor for our West Roxbury and Needham Heights studios. You will teach private 1-on-1 lessons and, depending on your interest, small group sections across our Professional Conservatory, Independent Conservatory, and Open Enrollment programs. Students range from beginners taking their first lesson to advanced players preparing for auditions. This is a role for someone who takes the craft seriously and enjoys the long work of bringing a student along. Our curriculum is structured and level-based, so you will always know where a student stands and what comes next — and you will have real say in how they get there. What you'll do Teach private and small-group piano lessons to students ages 4 through adult Build lesson plans within our level-based curriculum, adapted to each student's pace and goals Track and report student progress to families through our regular review cycle Prepare students for recitals, showcases, and, where appropriate, auditions Take part in Academy recitals and community performances as your schedule allows What we're looking for Major in piano performance, music education, or equivalent professional experience Command of piano technique and pedagogy across beginner through advanced levels Prior teaching experience, whether in a studio, school, or private practice Reliability, warmth, and clear communication with students and families Familiarity with Faber, Alfred, Suzuki, or comparable method books is welcome Availability on weekday afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends What we offer $35 per hour A steady stream of students — we handle scheduling, billing, and family communication Purpose-built teaching rooms with quality instruments and equipment Performance opportunities through our recitals, galas, and in-house music agency Colleagues who are working musicians and take teaching seriously 401K Schedule Part-time, hourly.
