The number of hours will depend on student enrollment in the School of Music piano program. This position will take over an already established studio and is compensated based on the number of enrolled students. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of music theory along with a strong passion for teaching.
Responsibilities:
Teach students of all skill levels and ages, from pre-K through 12th grade Develop customized lesson plans based on each student's individual goals and needs Monitor and evaluate student progress Host two recitals per year in collaboration with the school's other private music instructors Cultivate a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment Maintain accurate, organized student records
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field Prior piano teaching experience preferred Proficiency across multiple musical styles and genres Strong foundation in music theory and piano technique Excellent communication skills with both students and parents Ability to motivate and inspire young musicians Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively Please apply online through the Westchester Country Day School website (www.westchestercds.org/jobs).
