Diva Music Studios is a new, performance-focused music school in Middle Village, Queens, and we are looking for a passionate, reliable, and dedicated Guitar Teacher to join our teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a brand-new music school from the beginning. Our studio, classrooms, instruments, and teaching environment are all new, giving teachers the opportunity to join a growing school and help shape the culture and student experience from the ground up. We are seeking guitar teachers who are enthusiastic about helping students develop strong musical foundations while also encouraging them to perform, build confidence, and pursue their individual musical goals.

Part-time; flexible and built gradually as enrollment grows Weekend availability: At least one weekend day preferred No guaranteed minimum hours initially Opportunity for your schedule to grow as student enrollment increases About Diva Music Studios Diva Music Studios is a learn-through-performing music school. We believe students grow not only through weekly lessons, but through opportunities to apply their skills in performance settings.
Our teachers encourage students to:
Participate in studio recitals and performances Develop strong guitar technique and musicianship Build a solid foundation in music theory Prepare for NYSSMA or equivalent music examinations Audition for performing arts schools and programs Explore performance opportunities appropriate for their age and level Develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of music Experience preparing students for NYSSMA or equivalent music examinations is preferred but not required. Teachers must be comfortable preparing students for performances, including Diva Music Studios recitals, and supporting students who wish to pursue auditions or other musical opportunities.
Qualifications Required:
Experience teaching private guitar lessons OR currently enrolled in a college/university music program Formal training in music, music education, music performance, guitar performance, or a related field Strong knowledge of guitar technique and music theory Ability to teach students of varying ages, levels, and musical goals Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style Strong communication and time-management skills Reliable and committed to maintaining consistent weekly availability Basic familiarity with smart devices such as tablets, smartphones, and digital teaching resources Willingness to prepare students for performances and studio recitals Preferred, but not required: Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, Guitar Performance, or a related field Experience preparing students for NYSSMA or equivalent music examinations Experience preparing students for auditions Experience working with students with special needs Experience teaching multiple guitar styles and genres Experience teaching both acoustic and electric guitar Experience with contemporary, popular, rock, jazz, classical, or other guitar styles Experience teaching students preparing for performing arts schools or programs Teaching Approach We are looking for teachers who can meet students where they are while maintaining strong musical fundamentals. Depending on the student's age, level, and goals, lessons may include: Guitar technique Chords and chord progressions Scales and exercises Music theory Sight-reading and notation Ear training Repertoire development Performance preparation Acoustic and electric guitar Classical and contemporary guitar Popular, rock, jazz, and other styles Strumming and rhythm Fingerstyle and/or picking techniques Improvisation and creative musicianship Teachers should be able to adapt lessons to the individual student rather than relying on a single teaching method or curriculum. Schedule & Growth Opportunity Because Diva Music Studios is a new school, teachers joining us will have flexibility in selecting their preferred teaching days and times as we build our schedules. We are looking for instructors who understand that schedules will grow gradually with student enrollment. You may begin with a small number of students, with the opportunity to add additional students and teaching hours as demand increases. Consistent weekly availability is extremely important to us. Our students benefit from having a dependable teacher and regular lesson schedule, so we are looking for instructors who can make a meaningful commitment to their students as their schedules develop. Availability during after-school/evening hours and at least one weekend day is strongly preferred.
