Job Description:
The Arts & Humanities Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty for an immediate need in Music. Candidates are needed to teach the following courses: Fundamentals of Music, Music Appreciation, History of American Popular Music, History of Rock and Roll, Music Appreciation, and Music Theory.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Music, the concentration would depend on the course. Prior teaching experience at the college level is required. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Additional Information:
This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach courses in Art. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur. The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews. Level A - $665/credit hour Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
