Rhythm & Roots is a joyful, hands-on music program designed to nurture creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music. Classes blend singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, listening activities, and musical expression in a supportive environment. The teacher will lead age-appropriate classes for: Preschool and Kindergarten, ages 3-5 Lower Elementary, ages 6-8 Upper Elementary and Middle School, ages 9-13

Responsibilities:

Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate music lessons Introduce rhythm, beat, tempo, pitch, basic notation, and musical styles Incorporate singing, movement, percussion, instruments, games, and collaborative activities Introduce older students to concepts such as composition, songwriting, harmony, music history, and performance Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression Maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom Communicate with the program director regarding lesson plans and student needs

Qualifications:

Music teaching, education, or performance experience required Experience working with children across multiple age groups Strong classroom-management and communication skills Energetic, dependable, patient, and creative Comfortable leading singing, movement, and hands-on musical activities Teaching certification or music degree preferred Must be able to pass a background check
