Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a Music and Movement Teacher that will be responsible for planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate music and movement experiences that promote children's spiritual, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. This position fosters a joyful learning environment where preschool-aged children can develop a love for music while growing in their understanding of God's love through Christian values, songs, and activities. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement weekly music and movement lessons for preschool-aged children (18-24 months, PK 2-4, TK/K). teach fundamental music concepts through singing, rhythm, instruments, movement, dance, and creative play. Incorporate Bible stories, Christian songs, and biblical principles into lessons when appropriate. Encourage children's creativity, self-expression, coordination, listening skills, and confidence. Create a positive, nurturing and Christ-centered classroom atmosphere. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. Select and care for musical instruments, props, and classroom materials. Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce seasonal themes, curriculum, and special events. Prepare students for holiday programs, chapel presentations, and other school performances. Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and families regarding student participation and progress. Follow all school policies regarding health, safety, child supervision, and confidentiality. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as requested. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Music Education, or a related field preferred. Experience teaching young children in a preschool, daycare, church ,or elementary setting preferred. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices. Familiar with technology. Desired Skills Energetic, Enthusiastic, and creative. Patient, encouraging, and nurturing. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to engage children with varying developmental needs. Team-Oriented. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and actively participate in movement activities throughout the day. Lead active songs, dances, and movement exercises with young children. Mission The Music and Movement Teacher helps children discover the joy of music, movement, worship, and learning in a loving, faith-filled environment. The teacher serves as a positive role model who reflects the values and mission of the academy through words, actions, and relationships.
