Job Description

Xavier University is seeking qualified candidates to join our pool of potential adjunct faculty for Fall 2026. This posting is intended to collect applications for part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences . Candidates must be dedicated to graduate or undergraduate teaching and demonstrate excellence in their field. The successful candidate will contribute to our commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis, and candidates may be contacted as teaching needs arise. Adjunct faculty contracts are issued on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on departmental needs and student enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Depending on the courses assigned, candidates may qualify with a master's degree in a related field accompanied by significant professional experience or a relevant graduate degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the college level.
Duties include:
  • Teach assigned course(s).
  • Effective planning and preparation of lectures, discussions, and activities to support student success.
  • Use Xavier's campus-wide academic program, Canvas, to provide course information and maintain an electronic record of student's progress.
  • Working cooperatively with members of the department.
