Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher, providing specialized instruction for students in a supportive and inclusive school environment. This on-site role offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations as an itinerant professional, collaborating closely with school teams to develop and implement adaptive physical education programs tailored to each students needs.

Valid California teaching credential specific to Adaptive Physical Education Previous experience as an APE teacher in a school-based setting preferred Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse student needs Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills Ability to travel between school sites within a defined geographic area Passion for fostering student growth, confidence, and physical development
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Designing and delivering individualized adaptive PE lessons for students with varying abilities Conducting assessments, monitoring student progress, and maintaining detailed documentation Collaborating with general education teachers, related service personnel, and families to integrate adaptive activities into broader school programs Participating in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to accommodate and modify physical education goals Providing consultative support to school staff regarding strategies and equipment for inclusion Promoting a positive, safe, and motivating environment to encourage all students' participation This is a full-time, 184-day contract position, aligned with the academic year calendar (August 11, 2026 - June 4, 2027). Compensation ranges from $63 to $67 per hour, reflecting the roles significance and required expertise.
