Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting adaptive physical education for students in the Daly City and San Francisco area. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction to students with a diverse range of abilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The position spans the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year and operates on an itinerant basis, supporting multiple educational sites with a consistent weekly schedule.
Responsibilities Include:
Deliver adaptive physical education programs tailored to individual student needs in accordance with IEP goals. Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate physical education lessons for students with diverse physical and cognitive abilities. Collaborate with educational teams, families, and related service providers to create supportive, effective programs. Conduct ongoing assessments, track student progress, and participate in IEP meetings as required. Travel between locations within the district as an itinerant educator. To be successful, candidates should have: Valid California teaching credential authorizing service as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. Previous experience (school-based preferred) working with children or adolescents with disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families. Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage a flexible caseload. Passion for fostering inclusion and helping all students reach their potential through adaptive movement programs. This on-site role offers a steady 35-hour workweek as part of a supportive educational team for 184 school days, beginning August 11, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027.
