Job Description
Description St. Elisabeth School, a vibrant and faith-filled Catholic school community in Van Nuys, is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and student-centered Part-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for physical education and enjoy working with students in a positive, structured, and encouraging environment. The P.E. teacher will help students develop physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Requirements Responsibilities Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate P.E. lessons for students. Develop students' physical fitness, coordination, motor skills, and teamwork. Promote sportsmanship, cooperation, discipline, and healthy lifestyles. Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students. Supervise students during physical activities and ensure proper safety procedures. Properly use and maintain P.E. equipment and facilities. Manage student behavior appropriately during activities. Incorporate Catholic values and character development into interactions with students. Collaborate with teachers and administration as needed. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school or educational setting preferred. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic personality. Ability to create engaging activities for students of varying ages and abilities. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Practicing Catholic preferred. Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
