The ideal candidate understands that physical education is about far more than exercise—it is an opportunity to teach discipline, teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, and respect. This individual will create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment where students are challenged to grow physically while developing confidence and strong character. The successful candidate will collaborate with school leadership, fellow educators, coaches, and families to support the holistic development of every student. Duties Instruction & Student Development Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based physical education instruction for high school students. Develop lesson plans that promote physical fitness, wellness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Foster an environment that encourages participation, personal growth, and respect for others. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback. Classroom & Gymnasium Leadership Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. Teach and reinforce appropriate sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and personal responsibility. Monitor student behavior and encourage positive decision-making. Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately. Student Mentorship Build meaningful relationships with students that encourage academic, physical, and spiritual growth. Model integrity, respect, discipline, and Christ-like character. Encourage students to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Serve as a positive role model for students through daily interactions. Collaboration Partner with faculty, administration, and parents to support student success. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Collaborate with athletic coaches and school leadership to support student-athletes when appropriate. Assist with school activities, special events, and other duties as assigned. Spiritual & School Community Engagement Support the Christian mission and values of Impact Christian Academy. Participate in chapel services, school events, and community-building activities. Integrate biblical principles and character development into daily interactions with students. Required Qualifications Demonstrated alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Impact Christian Academy. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field. Eligible to work in the United States. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Passion for mentoring and developing high school students. Preferred Qualifications Florida Professional Educator Certificate (or eligibility to obtain certification) in Physical Education (K-12). Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Previous teaching experience at the middle or high school level preferred. Coaching experience in one or more high school sports. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience integrating technology into instruction.
