Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic and rewarding contract position as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, working closely with students at the middle school level. This opportunity emphasizes making a positive impact by providing tailored physical education experiences to students with diverse abilities.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) license required Experience teaching Adaptive Physical Education in schools is highly preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Dedication to fostering inclusion and supporting students with varying physical and developmental needs Ability to travel between Northdale Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School as scheduled
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver adaptive physical education curriculum tailored to individual student needs Assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and families to set and review student goals Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings as needed Provide engaging, safe, and inclusive physical education experiences for all students Ensure compliance with all relevant educational standards and district guidelines
Position Details:
Full-time (1.0 FTE); approximately 37.5 hours each week, Monday through Friday Contract term: September 3, 2026 - November 30, 2026 Service two middle school campuses within the district To be considered, candidates must submit an updated resume and proof of an active Minnesota DAPE license.
