Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited education program (required) Active

NCDPI PE

Certification; candidates must submit proof of licensure Prior experience working with students with disabilities or within an adaptive physical education setting preferred Knowledge of differentiated instruction and competency developing/adapting lesson plans for IEP goals Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Provide adaptive physical education instruction in alignment with North Carolina's Standard Course of Study Develop, modify, and deliver lessons and activities based on each student's strengths, challenges, and IEP requirements Foster a safe, encouraging atmosphere that supports physical and motor development for students with disabilities Manage classroom behavior and ensure the well-being of all students during activities Assess progress, maintain documentation, and report outcomes to families and school teams Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, and families to maximize student inclusion and success Engage in professional development and uphold district procedures
