Lecturer - Political Theory

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position Details The Department of Political Science at the City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a Lecturer in Political Theory to begin in the Fall of 2027. The successful candidate will teach classes on gender and politics, political theory, and human rights. Demonstrated experience and capacity for undergraduate student advisement are also sought for. Candidates should have a strong commitment to City College's historic mission of providing a first-rate public education to all students, regardless of means or background. Successful candidates will be required to teach four courses per semester and actively participate in the life of the department, the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership and City College as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Political Science, and the ability to teach successfully. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. degree in Political Science from an accredited institution, preferably with a specialty in political theory. Substantial experience and demonstrated record as a quality teacher and student advisor required.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range:

$87,149-$92,359. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
