Responsibilities include:
Oversee center to ensure quality and compliant services and outcomes. Implement and maintain State licensing regulations for the Center; and participate in audits as necessary. Act as the designated contact for licensing announced and unannounced visits, and any corrective actions as necessary. Hire, supervise, train and monitor teaching staff on site to ensure quality teaching and appropriate child interactions. Provide for adequate enrollment in collaboration with Enrollment Specialist to ensure operating costs remain within budget projections for the site. Ensure all children are developmentally assessed and that an educational plan is developed and implemented with age appropriate curriculum that meets the individual needs of the children enrolled. Ensure center, rooms and play areas are well maintained in a clean, orderly, and in a healthy and safe condition at all times. Monitors and expedites any work orders for the center, rooms and play areas as needed. Maintains appropriate staff level to ensure teacher to child ratios are met in accordance with licensing regulations and Davis Street safety standards. Participate in classrooms as needed to sub, provide breaks or coverage needs. Conduct parent/teacher conferences and provide information to parents concerning their children's development, abilities, and areas of concern; explains program procedures and classroom activities as requested. Report incidents of suspected child abuse of the center to proper authorities , and ensure staff is trained and certified. Document for center files. Plans and coordinate's monthly staff meetings to promote ongoing staff development and communication. Provides parents with information on additional Davis Street agency services and provides referrals to outside services as needed. Manages and maintains primary Title 5 programs and regulatory health and safety standards for the assigned center. May also manage Title 22 programs and compliance. Oversees a large capacity center consisting of a minimum for 3 separate classrooms and a staff FTE of 6 or more. Manage and maintain a daily food program, including food supplies, kitchen/cooking facilities, supervision of a cook, complying with child nutritional needs, meeting program record keeping and reporting requirements. Provide training and support to new and existing Center Directors and teaching staff as needed. Collaborate with other Center Directors to share ideas, techniques and best practices. May provide support to other centers for licensing announced and unannounced visits. Assist with special projects as needed. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Site Supervisor permit required Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification and Preventive Health Practices Live scan clearance Health Screening Report including TB test clearance Related experience, supervisory experience preferred Creative, flexible, organized and ability to prioritize with superior time management skills to meet deadlines Excellent communication and people skills to interact with staff, children and families Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook and Child Care Software applications Commitment to the mission and values of Davis Street
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift children or heavy items up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to bend, stand, climb, walk, and perform physical activities as needed. Ability to work safely in an environment that may include bodily fluids, waste, germs, childhood illnesses, and diseases.
