A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.
Coastal Hope Academy is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and motivated Center Director to oversee the daily operations, compliance, and educational leadership of our facility. The Director will manage staff, ensure full regulatory compliance, maintain high standards of care and education, and foster strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily administrative, operational, and educational functions of the center. Ensure full compliance with all Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing standards, local health department rules, and safety regulations. Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor teaching faculty and support staff. Manage enrollment, conduct facility tours, and build strong, professional relationships with families. Oversee center budgeting, tuition collection, and operational expenditures. Maintain complete and accurate student and staff files in accordance with state laws. Cultivate a safe, supportive, and professional working environment for staff and a high-quality learning environment for students.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Florida Child Care Professional Credential (Director Credential) with a current Advanced Level designation preferred. Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening . Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed childcare facility. Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Florida DCF child care licensing regulations and compliance protocols. Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in childcare management software, basic budgeting, and general computer skills. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to renew upon hire).
