Leadership Child Development Associate Certification Full Job Description Purpose :

to serve the community by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective, faith-based learning program by providing leadership to and supervision of staff members and others involved in this ministry, while incorporating the values and mission of Hope Lutheran Church.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe and loving environment for staff and families, keeping God in the center of every day
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, Hope staff, and Hope congregation - including timely communication and positive conflict resolution
• Ensure compliance of preschool program and buildings/playground with DCF requirements
• Supervise and provide positive support for teachers and volunteers, including classroom management and curriculum implementation
• Monitor ratios and ensure proper supervision at all times
• Maintain accurate records (attendance, staff files, child files)
• Review, update, and enforce Employee and Parent Handbooks
• Monitor collection of fees in coordination with Administrative Coordinator
• Remain in compliance with all Director education and certification requirements

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Active Florida Staff Credential
• Completed 30 hours of introductory training provided by DCF
• Completed 8 hours of Special needs training regarding children with disabilities and provided by DCF
• Completed VPK director training (to participate in VPK) (can be actively pursuing)
• Completed FAST training (to participate in VPK) (can be actively pursuing)
• Completed Nemours Brightstart training (to participate in GRTR and VPK) (can be actively pursuing) VPK Director Requirements
• Hold a current DCF directors' credential (CDA)
• Complete DOE approved on VPK Education standards
• Complete DOE approved emergent literacy courses
• Complete DOE approved course about VPK director credentials

Position Benefits:
