Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Start/Early Head Start Director to lead our early childhood education programs, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and community engagement. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, program management, staff supervision, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development and family well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early education, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of federal and state regulations governing early childhood programs. As the head of our initiative, you will drive continuous improvement, secure funding opportunities through effective fundraising, and cultivate a collaborative team dedicated to empowering young children and their families. Duties Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all Head Start/Early Head Start programs, aligning with organizational goals and community needs. Oversee curriculum development to ensure age-appropriate, culturally responsive educational practices that promote school readiness and childhood development. Manage program budgets efficiently, including managing funds as an executive education administrator and ensuring fiscal accountability. Lead staff recruitment, supervision, professional development facilitation in schools, faculty evaluation, and personnel management to foster a high-performing team. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to early childhood education and school legal requirements; maintain thorough documentation for audits and inspections. Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure grants and community support that sustain program growth and innovation. Facilitate ongoing training in instructional leadership in education, special education law, childhood development principles, and educational compliance standards. Promote a positive organizational culture through effective public speaking, community outreach, and building strong partnerships with families, schools, and community stakeholders. Oversee school administrative functions including managing school staff supervision, classroom experience oversight, and ensuring high-quality instruction across all classrooms. Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives by evaluating faculty performance and instructional practices to enhance student outcomes. Qualifications Proven experience in school administrative director roles or equivalent leadership positions within early childhood or K-12 education settings. Extensive knowledge of educational compliance regulations including federal Head Start Program Performance Standards, special education law, and childhood development best practices. Strong background in curriculum development, instructional leadership in education, and working with students from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated success in managing budgets as an executive education administrator along with experience in fundraising efforts for educational programs. Exceptional management skills with a track record of supervising school staff effectively while fostering professional growth through facilitation of professional development initiatives. In-depth understanding of school legal issues related to early childhood education and personnel management in educational environments. Excellent public speaking skills combined with the ability to build relationships with community partners and stakeholders. Experience working within early childhood education frameworks such as Head Start or Early Head Start programs is highly preferred. Pay:
$85,134.00 - $120,577.00 per year
