A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Job Description

This position is responsible and accountable for establishing quality early childhood environments that promote creativity, spontaneity, safety and over all early childhood best practice in the delivery of comprehensive preschool services. Ensures that the curriculum and care offered is consistent with Head Start regulations and policy as well as state licensing requirements. Provides supervision and support to classroom teaching staff to ensure that every child's individual needs are addressed allowing them to develop cognitively, socially and physically. BA degree in early childhood education, or in elementary education, social work, or management with either completion of or working towards the equivalent coursework in early childhood education, in addition to early education teaching experience; and three (3) years related experience in progressively responsible supervisory positions in educational or child care institutions. Full time, all year insurance eligibility.
