Child Care Center Director Job Summary The Child Care Center Director is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations, educational programs, and administrative functions of a licensed early childhood education facility. This position requires strategic planning, staff supervision, curriculum development, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The Director will foster a nurturing environment that supports childhood development and promotes high-quality care and education for children from infancy through preschool age. The role demands strong leadership skills, educational expertise, and a commitment to excellence in early childhood education. Responsibilities Provide overall management and leadership for the child care center, ensuring smooth daily operations. Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards. Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff, including classroom teachers and administrative personnel. Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to promote instructional excellence and compliance with current educational practices. Oversee budgeting processes, manage financial resources, and ensure fiscal responsibility within the center's operations. Lead strategic planning initiatives to improve program quality, enrollment, and community engagement. Ensure adherence to all licensing requirements, safety regulations, and legal standards related to early childhood education and child welfare laws. Coordinate fundraising efforts to support program development and facility improvements. Manage school administrative functions including record keeping, enrollment procedures, and parent communication. Foster positive relationships with families, community partners, and regulatory agencies. Conduct faculty evaluations and oversee classroom instruction to maintain high standards of educational quality. Stay informed about developments in childhood development research, special education law, and educational regulation compliance. Skills Extensive experience in school administration or early childhood education management. Strong background in curriculum development tailored to K-12 or early childhood settings. Proven leadership in senior management roles with team-building expertise. Skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management as an education administrator. Knowledgeable about legal requirements related to childhood education, including special education law and educational compliance regulations. Excellent communication skills for public speaking, staff supervision, and community engagement. Ability to facilitate professional development sessions for educators. Experience supervising faculty performance evaluations and instructional leadership in educational settings. Familiarity with managing budgets as an executive education administrator. Competent in managing school personnel including teachers and support staff within a regulated environment. Deep understanding of childhood development principles across diverse age groups from infancy through preschool years. This role is ideal for a dedicated educational leader passionate about fostering high-quality early childhood programs while ensuring operational excellence within a licensed child care environment.
