A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

  • Natick is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Center Director to join our leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early childhood professional who is ready to expand their leadership impact. Working closely with the Center Director, you'll help develop teachers, support families, maintain licensing compliance, and ensure the center delivers an exceptional educational experience every day. What You'll Do Partner with the Center Director to support daily center operations Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop teaching staff Create staff schedules and maintain appropriate classroom ratios Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and performance feedback Support teachers in implementing The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum Maintain employee records and required licensing documentation Ensure compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations, health, and safety requirements Build strong relationships with children, families, and teaching teams Support family engagement, enrollment growth, and retention Conduct center tours and create a welcoming experience for prospective families Help foster a positive culture built around teamwork, accountability, and professional growth Partner with the Center Director to achieve educational, staffing, and operational goals What We're Looking For Massachusetts Director I & Director II qualifications required Previous leadership experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool strongly preferred Professional teaching experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-age children Strong knowledge of Massachusetts EEC regulations and licensing requirements Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing early childhood educators Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Must meet all applicable Massachusetts EEC requirements What We Offer $48,000
