Welcome Center - Manager on Duty YMCA of Metro North - 4.0 Peabody, MA Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation CPR Certification Serving clients Phone communication In-person customer service Medical emergency response First Aid Certification Customer engagement Computer skills Physical safety enforcement AED Certification Client interaction via phone calls First aid and CPR Full Job Description The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible ensuring a positive member experience and supervision of the proper function of the facility. The MOD will promote YMCA membership and retention by interacting with the members and providing services as necessary. The MOD will also be available to handle problems and emergencies as necessary.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Moves throughout the facility for random and regular facility inspections and member interaction. Provides appropriate support to all program and membership staff (support must prohibit MOD from performing assigned duties) Helps manage emergency situations. Close the building according to YMCA facility guidelines. Wears staff shirt and nametag. Provides MOD Facility reports. Handles staffing issues/problems in the absences of Program Directors according to YMCA policies and procedures. Reports all emergencies to senior management: Executive Director Aquatics/Safety Director Associate Executive Director. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Interpersonal Skills:
These professionals may often help staff resolve conflicts, so it may help them to be able to communicate and use empathy in sensitive situations.
Communication:
Managers on duty may use communication skills to delegate tasks and report operational information to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age. Have a knowledge base in YMCA memberships and programs, preferred. Have a working knowledge of the YMCA facility and facility systems, preferred. Possess an outgoing and enthusiastic attitude, which will enable them to deal with staff and members appropriately. Able to react appropriately to building and other emergencies. Have the minimum basic knowledge required to operate Personify computer software. Possess current CPR/AED (infant, child and adult) certification and Standard First Aid certification and to be ready to handle any medical emergencies that may arise. High school education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to sit/stand for long periods of time, when necessary, to back up the member service desk Ability to speak distinctly for handling customers by telephone and in person. Sound judgement for dealing with daily issues. Always cognizant of member and staff safety. Ability to physically intercede when person to person incidents arise.
