A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

- Responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures and standards are consistently and expertly executed each day
- Effectively manage enrollment, licensing and accreditation requirements for all classrooms and the program
- Approve creative lesson plans and activities and ensure all curriculum and program standards are executed with fidelity
- Supervise, observe, coach and train staff and monitor staffing ratios and payroll costs
- Manage the procurement and inventory needs for the program
- Communicate positively and respectfully with all staff, parents and children
- Complete annual professional development, credentialing, accreditation and training requirements Qualifications are as follows:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Possess a degree from an accredited college or university: degrees in Early Childhood or Elementary Education; preferred
- Three years of management and supervisory experience required
- Must have 90-hour School Age Certification or an AA or higher degree in Elementary Education
- Must have reliable daily transportation
- Must be able to be fingerprinted and pass a background check and required medical exam
