Ownership/Regional Management Position Summary The Center Director is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, and success of Kids First Neighborhood Childcare. This position provides strong leadership to staff, ensures a safe and nurturing environment for children, maintains compliance with childcare licensing requirements, and delivers excellent customer service to families. The ideal candidate is an experienced, dependable, and compassionate leader who is passionate about early childhood education and can effectively manage staff, families, enrollment, classroom operations, and administrative responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management Lead, supervise, motivate, and support all teachers and staff. Maintain appropriate staffing and classroom ratios at all times. Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, performance evaluations, and professional development. Address staff concerns and performance issues professionally and promptly. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive workplace culture. Ensure classrooms are properly staffed, organized, and operating effectively. Childcare Operations Oversee the daily operation of the center and ensure smooth classroom transitions. Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment. Ensure staff follow classroom schedules, curriculum expectations, and center policies. Monitor children's well-being and address behavioral or safety concerns appropriately. Conduct regular classroom observations and provide coaching when needed. Licensing & Compliance Ensure compliance with all state childcare licensing regulations and center policies. Maintain accurate enrollment, attendance, health, incident, staff, and licensing records. Ensure required paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Prepare the center for licensing inspections and address any identified concerns. Ensure health, safety, sanitation, emergency, and supervision procedures are followed. Family Relations & Customer Service Build strong, respectful relationships with families. Respond to parent questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner. Help resolve family concerns while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment. Support tours, enrollment inquiries, registration, and family retention efforts. Promote the center's programs, services, and special enrollment opportunities. Maintain strong communication with prospective and currently enrolled families. Enrollment & Center Growth Support enrollment goals and maintain strong relationships with prospective families. Follow up with leads and assist families with the enrollment process. Promote available programs, including preschool, toddler, school-age, UWSN/Nevada Ready, and other applicable childcare assistance programs. Monitor classroom capacity and available spaces. Work with the enrollment team to help convert tours and inquiries into enrollments. Support retention efforts and encourage positive family experiences. Administrative Responsibilities Manage daily center operations and administrative tasks. Monitor attendance, staffing, supplies, and classroom needs. Review reports and communicate important updates to management. Assist with purchasing and maintaining adequate classroom supplies. Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and employees. Communicate effectively with ownership and management regarding center needs and performance. Qualifications Previous childcare, early childhood education, or center management experience preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience required. Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and safety requirements preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced childcare environment. Must be dependable, professional, patient, and family-oriented. Must meet all applicable Nevada childcare licensing and background-check requirements. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. They should be able to make confident decisions, hold staff accountable, communicate professionally, and create a culture where children feel safe, families feel valued, and employees feel supported.
