Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Salary:
$20.76 - $34.60 per hour
Overview:
Under the supervision of full-time recreation staff, the Preschool Director facilitates the planning and implementation of the year-round childcare program. This role encompasses full-cycle human resources management including recruitment, training, and scheduling to ensure consistent coverage. The Preschool Director serves as the primary liaison between site management, teachers, parents, children, Youth Services, and Social Services, ensuring all operations remain in strict compliance with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and FCPA regulations. Key responsibilities include adhering to State Licensing Standards, maintaining facility records, maintaining the physical environment. driving instructional quality through teacher observations, evaluations, curriculum, and program support.
Duties:
Full-cycle hiring, training, scheduling, and approving teacher schedules. Preparing and maintaining all files for lead and assistant teachers. Scheduling and leading regular staff meetings. Fostering a professional atmosphere through leadership, positivity, and confidentiality compliance. Adhering to State Licensing Standards regarding student health conditions and overseeing the administration of emergency allergy treatments within the preschool program. Assisting in the planning and implementation of the preschool program. Responsible for Maintaining the operations, administrative requirements, communication and outreach of the Childcare Center. Managing prospective parent outreach by conducting tours and providing detailed information via email and phone to drive program enrollment. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 21 years or older. CPR/First Aid certified. Tuberculosis Test. Criminal Background Check. Child Protective Services Check. Driving Record Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Certificate in Early Childhood Education. At least 5 year's experience working with children ages 3-5 years. Experience planning curriculum. Familiar with Virginia Licensing Standards.
