Sounds Montessori Child Care is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher Assistant / Child Care Assistant to join our team! We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is comfortable caring for children ranging from infants through school age (up to 12 years old) . The ideal candidate has previous childcare experience and is comfortable working with different age groups, including infants and toddlers. Montessori experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a positive attitude, is dependable, and is eager to learn. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers with the daily care, supervision, and education of children. Help create a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Engage children in age-appropriate activities, play, learning, and classroom routines. Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, bottles, meals, and other age-appropriate personal care. Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, nap/rest time, and transitions. Support children's social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs. Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning materials. Help maintain a clean and organized classroom throughout the day. Follow classroom schedules, center policies, and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate supervision of children at all times. Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, teachers, and administration. Work cooperatively with other staff members and be willing to assist wherever needed. Follow all applicable Arizona Department of Health Services childcare regulations and center policies. Perform other classroom and childcare duties as assigned. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow! Preference will be given to applicants who have: Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, school, nanny, or similar setting. Experience caring for children from infancy through school age . Experience working with mixed-age groups . A warm, patient, and nurturing personality. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A willingness to learn and take direction from lead teachers and administration. The ability to stay calm, patient, and attentive in a busy childcare environment. Dependable attendance and punctuality. A positive attitude and willingness to help with all aspects of childcare. The ability to work well with coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment. A valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
