The Assistant Director plays a crucial role in the management and operation of the school. This position assists the Director in overseeing all aspects of daily operations, staff management, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in our care. The Assistant Director supports a positive and nurturing environment, fostering the growth and development of both children and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities Staff Supervision and Development:
The Assistant Director provides leadership, mentorship, and ongoing support to teachers and support staff and participates in regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and professional development.
Administrative Tasks:
Assist in maintaining accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, and billing. Collaborate with the Director on budget planning and financial management. Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and communication effectively and professionally. Support the coordination of special events and activities within the school.
Safety and Compliance:
Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols. Ensure compliance with California state licensing regulations and maintain necessary certifications. Conduct regular safety drills and training for staff and children.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians through open communication and regular updates. Organize and participate in school/family events. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. 12 ECE Units in required classes 3 Admin Units required Drug Test required upon hiring LiveScan background check and clearance or willing to obtain prior to employment Minimum of 2 years experience in a child care center or preschool setting. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Knowledge of state and local regulations governing child care centers (Title 22). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Google Docs, Excel, Canva). CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Compassion, patience, and a genuine love for working with children and other staff. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and proper grammar and sentence structure a must for communicating with parents and staff.
Pay:
From $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
