Prepare and present age-appropriate Montessori lessons and activities. Develop weekly and monthly lesson plans. Maintain an organized, attractive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Observe children's development and maintain student progress records. Support children's independence, confidence, social skills, and problem-solving abilities. Maintain appropriate classroom routines and supervision. Communicate professionally with parents regarding children's progress and classroom activities. Work collaboratively with the Director and other teachers. Maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios and follow all licensing requirements. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children. Assist with classroom transitions, meals, outdoor activities, nap time, and other daily routines. Participate in staff meetings, training, school events, and parent activities.

Qualifications Required:

Must meet California Community Care Licensing/Title 22 requirements for a qualified preschool teacher. Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework or equivalent required. Previous preschool teaching experience. Experience managing or leading a classroom. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and patient. Must be able to pass all required background clearances. Current or ability to obtain required health and safety training, including CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter training.

Preferred:

Montessori Teacher Certification or Montessori classroom experience. Previous experience as a Lead Teacher. Experience working with children ages 2-6. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
