Overview I am looking for an experienced childcare assistant to join my licensed home daycare in Gilroy. My program follows a structured, preschool-style day with circle time, hands-on activities, art, sensory play, music and movement, outdoor play, and plenty of interaction with the children. We were recognized as a 2026 Best of Gilroy Gold Winner for Daycare/Preschool, and I am looking for someone who will be a great addition to the program and the environment I have created for the children. This is a very hands-on position. I need someone who enjoys being around young children and is comfortable getting involved—playing with them, singing and dancing, helping lead activities and circle time, and keeping them engaged throughout the day. You should also be able to take initiative, multitask, and move between working with infants and toddlers as needed. Schedule Monday-Friday Approximately 35 hours per week Exact schedule will be discussed during the interview Responsibilities Engage and play with infants and toddlers throughout the day Help lead circle time, activities, music and movement Assist with infant feedings and daily care routines Help prepare and set up activities and materials Assist with meals and snacks Supervise indoor and outdoor play Help children through daily routines and transitions Clean, sanitize, organize, and reset daycare spaces throughout the day Work alongside other staff and help wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly What I'm looking for Previous childcare experience is required Comfortable helping lead and engage a group of children Friendly, energetic, patient, and genuinely enjoys interacting with kids Reliable and able to take initiative Able to multitask in an active childcare environment Able to communicate clearly in English Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Comfortable singing, dancing, playing, and participating with the children Requirements Must pass a criminal background check CPR and First Aid certification Mandated Reporter training Current TB clearance Immunization records as required by childcare licensing Must meet licensing requirements for working in a licensed childcare program
