We are seeking a nurturing, attentive, and dependable teacher to lead our infant classroom located at our Montessori school in the Montclair hills of Oakland, CA. This role works closely with the Director and Assistant Infant Teachers to create a calm, responsive, and thoughtfully prepared space that supports each child's early development and sense of security. The ideal candidate brings a genuine interest in infant development and caregiving, and supports and encourages the child to be independent to explore their environment and hit milestones. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm (on-site set schedule) Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate infant environment Lead daily caregiving routines, including feeding, diapering, sleeping, and transitions, with a responsive and respectful approach Prepare and maintain Montessori materials that encourage sensory exploration and early movement Provide attentive supervision and build secure, trusting relationships with each infant Observe and share developmental insights with the Director and Assistant Infant Teachers Establish and maintain consistent routines while adapting to individual infant needs Communicate professionally and warmly with team members and families as needed Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements at all times Qualifications Minimum 6 ECE units from an accredited college required Completion of Infant/Toddler coursework required for infant care in California Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Prior experience working with infants or young children required Montessori experience or interest in Montessori philosophy is a plus Must meet all requirements set by the California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division, including background clearance and health clearances All candidates must complete Live Scan fingerprinting in accordance with California state requirements prior to employment.
